In the past, it housed a tie factory, a jewelry workshop and even the STASI, the GDR police station in East Berlin during the Cold War.

Inspired by the industrial style, the famous interior designer firm Denis Von Arend from Barcelona opted for a design with bare walls that give prominence to the walls, beams and other architectural elements of the building. In addition, on each of the floors you will be surprised by colorful graffiti painted by Berlin artists.

From the Catalonia Berlin Mitte hotel you can walk to Museum Island, the Berliner Dom (the cathedral) and the Nikoleiviertel, the entertainment and restaurant area, in just 15 minutes, and the well-known Alexanderplatz in about 20 minutes. You can also get around like most locals do, by bike. If you bring your own, you can park it in our interior patio or we will help you rent one during your visit.

In addition, in front of the hotel is the Heinrich Heine metro stop and it is close to other methods of public transport, which will connect you with the main points of interest, such as Messe Berlin, the city's congress fair, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, seat of the German government, the enormous Tiergarten, the alternative neighborhood of Kreuzberg or Checkpoint Charlie, the most famous of the border crossings of the Berlin Wall, which divided the city into two parts until its fall in 1989.
